Bed temperature: 60 or not?
A 60 °C bed is the safe default for PLA. It helps the first layer stick and cuts warping. You can print PLA on a cold bed with blue tape, but 40 to 60 °C is more reliable. Above 60 °C offers no benefit and can soften the part too early.
Tuning with a temperature tower
A temperature tower prints the same model at several nozzle temperatures in one run. Print one from 190 to 220 °C and pick the band with the cleanest stringing and best surface. That band is the right temperature for your specific spool and printer.
