When to pick PETG
Pick PETG for tough parts that stay indoors or face only brief warmth. It prints at 240 to 260 °C with no enclosure, per the Prusament PETG datasheet. It is the easier path to a durable part.
When to pick ABS
Pick ABS for parts that face sustained heat above 80 °C, or that need maximum rigidity. The Polymaker PolyLite ABS sheet lists a nozzle of 245 to 265 °C and a bed of 90 to 100 °C. ABS also tolerates post-processing like acetone smoothing.
