Why 210 °C is the default

A 210 °C nozzle sits inside the standard PLA range from the Prusament and Overture datasheets. It is hot enough to bond layers and cool enough to avoid stringing. Start there for any unknown PLA spool and tune from the result.

Adjust for the blend

Drop toward 200 °C for silk and matte PLA, because their additives can scorch at the top of the range. Rise toward 220 °C for PLA+, which the eSUN datasheet lists at 210 to 230 °C. A temperature tower confirms the best band for your specific spool.
