The Neptune 4 Pro runs a Klipper-based board, and UltiMaker Cura needs a machine profile to drive it. Install the Elegoo Neptune 4 Pro profile, then start PLA at a 200 to 210 C nozzle and a 55 to 60 C bed. Cura is a capable slicer for this printer once the profile is in place, even though it is not the Elegoo-bundled option.

Cura setup for the Neptune 4 Pro

Cura does not ship the Neptune 4 Pro out of the box in every release, so the first job is to add the machine. ELEGOO publishes a Cura machine profile for the Neptune 4 Pro through its support and wiki channels, which sets the build volume, the bed size, and the start and end G-code for the printer. Once that profile is imported, Cura slices for the Neptune 4 Pro the same way it does for any other machine.

How to get Cura running on the Neptune 4 Pro

  1. Install UltiMaker Cura

    Download the current UltiMaker Cura release from the official UltiMaker page. Add a generic printer first if no Neptune 4 Pro preset is listed.

  2. Import the Neptune 4 Pro profile

    Get the Elegoo Neptune 4 Pro machine profile from ELEGOO support or the wiki, and import it in Cura under Preferences, Printers, Add.

  3. Set the PLA baseline

    Load the generic PLA filament profile, then set a 200 to 210 C nozzle and a 55 to 60 C bed.

  4. Check the start G-code

    Confirm the start G-code runs the bed mesh and primes the nozzle. Replace a generic start G-code with the Elegoo one if needed.

  5. Run a test cube

    Print a small calibration cube at 60 mm/s. Adjust flow and retraction from there.
