Start with PLA
PLA is the best first filament. It prints at 200 to 220 °C, sticks to a bare bed, and forgives a cold room or a poorly tuned retraction. You learn bed leveling and slicer basics without fighting the material.
Move to PETG second
PETG is the right second spool. It prints at 240 to 260 °C, per the Prusament PETG datasheet, and it gives you a tougher, more heat-resistant part. The cost is more stringing and a need to keep the filament dry.
