PETG layer separation is what happens when the layers of a PETG print split apart along the layer lines. The part cracks, peels, or zips open at a seam instead of holding as one piece. How PETG differs
PETG bonds its layers well when it prints hot, but it needs that heat, so a nozzle tuned for PLA leaves the seams weak. It also wants low part cooling, where PLA takes high cooling, so a PLA cooling profile can split a PETG print. Wet PETG bonds worse, since the moisture changes how the melt lays down. ABS and ASA separate even more, but PETG is the one that splits silently when it runs too cool.
